Kiwi family weekend 2012

...for New Zealanders and their immediate family only.

3-5 August, 2012

Friday - Evening BBQ/party (Bring what you plan to eat)
Saturday - Hangi prep., playing with the kids, hangi and party
Sunday - Sleep in, wind down, pack up and head off.

Where

Skalstrup forsamlingshus, Skalstrupvej 72, Vemb

Situated in West Jutland, 7 km from Vemb and 25 km west of Holstebro, the newly renovated “get-together-house” has a modern kitchen, toilets, one shower, and a big hall which we can use in case of bad weather.

There is plenty of room for camping and sports (no dogs please). There are forest walks, a brand new playground, and a “child-friendly” beach at the nearby fjord.

Price & payment

Adults -- 150,-
Children under 18yrs are free

This includes 2 breakfasts & lunch on Saturday and wood for the hangi and bonfire.

Remember to include your name and how many in your family, so we can plan the shopping.

Remember to include the names and numbers of those you're paying for. This helps us keep tabs on numbers which is essential for planning etc. Cheers!

West Jutland …

… has much to offer; and as the Kiwi weekend is earlier this year, you may have time to use more than the weekend to explore. There are numerous camping grounds in the area, see www.visitholstebro.dk and www.visitlemvig.dk.

Skalstrup is only 10 km from the west coast, and at Fjaltring, høfte Q, there are shelters with toilets and showers where you can stay the night, see www.fjaltring.dk, and there are Japanese gardens and the Flamingo Naturpark near Skalstrup.

Remember to bring

  • Whatever you want to eat for the BBQ on Friday.
  • Meat and veg for the hangi on Saturday.
  • Camping/eating equipment etc.
  • Outdoor  chairs for eating and lolling around on.
  • Musical instruments, sports gear etc – there’s a good playing field.
  • Chilly bins – there are fridges, but it makes life easier if we don’t have them filled up with beer & other drinks.
